The Scientific Conference “Albanology Week 2026” opens in Prishtina

The Acting Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, participated in the opening of the scientific conference “Albanology Week 2026,” organized by the Albanological Institute of Kosovo. In its 17th edition, the conference brought together academics, researchers, professors, and institutional representatives from Kosovo, Albania, and other Albanian-speaking regions to discuss the latest developments in the fields of Albanology, linguistics, history, literature, and cultural heritage.

In his address, Minister Hajrulla Çeku emphasized the importance of Albanology as one of the fundamental pillars of Albanian cultural and national identity. He praised the contribution of Albanian scholars over the years in preserving and advancing the language, culture, and historical memory, highlighting that “Albanology Week” has become an important space for scientific and academic dialogue.

Minister Çeku particularly focused on the challenges facing the Albanian language in the digital era, stressing the need for its technological development through modern linguistic corpora, digital dictionaries, automatic translation systems, and artificial intelligence platforms that support the Albanian language.

The significance of the conference and the role of the Albanological Institute as a key institution for safeguarding and promoting Albanian national heritage were also underlined by the Acting Director of the Albanological Institute, Fadil Grajqevci, and the Consul of Albania in Kosovo, Françesk Fusha.
