The Institute of Pharmacy opens at the University of Prishtina

Today, the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina” held the official opening of the Institute of Pharmacy, marking an important step for the advancement of higher education and scientific research in Kosovo.

The Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, described this as a significant moment that strengthens the link between education, the profession, and the needs of society, emphasizing that the institute will contribute to the production of knowledge through research, analysis, and practice.

“We have clearly defined the increase of support for science and the orientation of universities toward research and applied modernization. The Institute of Pharmacy is precisely an example of this approach. It creates opportunities for the university not only to be a place of knowledge transmission, but also a place where knowledge is produced through research, analysis, cooperation, and practice,” said Çeku.

He underlined that in the field of pharmacy, scientific research is essential for the quality of healthcare services, the safety of medicines, and the development of the pharmaceutical industry.

Meanwhile, the Rector of the University of Prishtina, Arben Hajrullahu, stressed the shared responsibility for ensuring the quality of medicines, adding that the citizens of Kosovo deserve safe and verified products.

The Institute of Pharmacy is expected to serve as a bridge between education, research, and the labor market, as well as become a reference point for the development of the pharmaceutical sector in the country.
