Minister Çeku welcomed the leaders of JUESC

The Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, together with Deputy Minister Përparim Kryeziu, welcomed the President of the United Union of Education, Science and Culture (JUESC), Rrahman Jasharaj, the Vice President, Vjollca Shala, the Secretary General, Ymer Ymeri, and JUESC’s Legal Officer, Blendor Shatri.

On this occasion, the JUESC leaders congratulated Minister Çeku on his reappointment as Minister of Education and Science, wishing him success in fulfilling the responsibilities and objectives of his work.

In the meeting was discussed cooperation and the involvement of JUESC in the drafting process of the new Education Strategy 2035+, a document that will define the main orientations and priorities for the development of education in the next 10 years. The Minister thanked JUESC for the support given to this process and for their active participation and contribution in the working group meetings.

A central part of the discussion was also the reflection on the low results in the PISA test and the shared responsibility for joint engagement in improving the quality of teaching and learning.

Furthermore, in this meeting Minister Çeku and JUESC leaders agreed to begin a cycle of meetings with teachers and union representatives in all regions of the country, to directly discuss key issues in education, the ministry’s plans, the pillars of the new Education Strategy, and the resource needs of teachers, students, and schools.
