Minister Çeku participated in the regional event on TALIS results and the role of teachers in education reforms

The Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, took part in the regional activity “OECD TALIS Results for Western Balkan Countries – Teachers as Key Agents of Change in Education Reforms”, held in Podgorica, Montenegro.

This event, organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Montenegro in cooperation with OECD, UNICEF, and the European Union, gathered education ministers, representatives of educational institutions, international experts, and development partners from the region and beyond.

During the activity, the main findings of the TALIS (Teaching and Learning International Survey) report for Western Balkan countries were presented, focusing on the role of teachers in implementing education reforms, professional support for them, and evidence-based policies to improve quality in education.

Minister Çeku emphasized the importance of regional and international cooperation in building sustainable education policies, highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to empowering teachers and advancing reforms that enhance quality and inclusiveness in Kosovo’s education system.

As part of the discussions, participants exchanged experiences and best practices related to teachers’ professional development, implementation of new curricula, and the design of effective strategies for education reforms.

Minister Çeku’s participation reaffirmed the Republic of Kosovo’s commitment to being an active part of regional and international initiatives that contribute to the advancement of education and the strengthening of teachers’ role as drivers of change.
