The Minister of Education and Science, Hajrulla Çeku, carried out his first official visit to the Republic of Albania. He was hosted in a meeting by Albania’s Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro Furxhi. During the discussion, the close cooperation in the field of education between the two countries was reaffirmed.
During his stay in Tirana, Minister Çeku also participated in the fourth edition of the National Albanian Language Competition, with around 7,000 students from 800 schools. The contest, which was held between the two finalist schools, “Besëlidhja” of Lezha and “Edith Durham” of Tirana, demonstrated the high level of preparation of the students, as well as their dedication and love for our mother tongue.
In this official visit, the exchange of experiences and the importance of deepening cooperation through joint projects and mobility in education were emphasized, aiming for a qualitative and competitive system in the region and beyond.
Minister Çeku expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and fruitful discussions with Minister Kumbaro, while showing readiness for further advancement of this important partnership.
On May 23, Prishtina will host the Joint Albanian Language Olympiad, with such events and activities set to increase further.
